Welcome
Fundraising Update
Building a chapter room that truly reflects what Texas Gamma is about takes a significant commitment to fundraising from our members and alumni. Our undergrads have launched a telephone campaign to contact alumni, and alums are calling amongst themselves. We have sent a fundraising letter to the parents of every undergrad, and several undergrads have stepped up to make contributions themselves...
New Chapter Room
Over the past two months, Wiggins Hall has undergone massive reconstruction transforming the long time residential hall into three separate Greek houses. Sigma Phi Epsilon will be taking residency in one of these houses. Currently, most of the structural alterations involving the chapter room, kitchen, and downstairs bathroom have been completed. The walls inside the chapter room are primed and ready for painting. The construction is scheduled to be completed by August 1st, at which time our contractors will begin work on the Chapter room and the rest of the downstairs. We are thoroughly excited about the progress of the construction and are anxiously waiting to see the end results!

We Are Balanced
The great thing about Sig Ep here at TCU is that we represent balance in every day life. In this tradition, our grades are top notch as we were one of the top two fraternities at TCU last semester in overall GPA.
At the same time, we are not consumed by just getting good grades. In athletics, we won the all-campus intramural championship for the 2005-2005 school year, finishing ahead of every other fraternity. Some of our distinguished victories were in softball and tennis, and we were always one of the last teams standing in each sport.
We also have an impressive social schedule coming up next term with such sororities as Chi Omega, Kappa Alpha Theta, and Pi Beta Phi. Please check our Chapter Functions page for more information.
Our History
The Texas Gamma Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon flourished through the 1950’s and 1960’s. However, at the end of the 1960’s the fraternity system nationwide was experiencing major changes. The country was rapidly changing and to many the notion of fraternal organizations seemed antiquated. After all, there was a very divisive war being fought in the jungles of Vietnam. Texas Gamma fought to preserve fraternity throughout this turbulent time. But as the war ended and social upheaval continued, problems arose. Finally, in 1976 SigEp headquarters pulled the charter of the Texas Gamma Chapter. For 21 years, there would be no SigEp at TCU.
In the spring of 1997, Texas Christian University decided to add two new fraternities to the existing community of eight. After narrowing its finalists down to four, the school’s administration chose Pi Kappa Phi and Sigma Phi Epsilon over Delta Upsilon and Theta Chi. Both chapters had interest groups of men that had formed prior to their selection, but for SigEp the opportunity was more of a rebirth. Since then our chapter has continued to grow each year, and each class has been a tribute to our cardinal principles of Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love. As we move into the future we hope you too will join our historic organization, and become a brother of Sigma Phi Epsilon.
